Tandemaus is also in Party Play challenges, and it looks like the main way (that Niantic is intending) to get that Pokemon currently. Not sure if it will stay in Party Play challenges after this event (hope it does), but yeah, worth partying up during the next few days for more chances.

The first mausehold i evolved in pokemon scarlet was a 3. I didnt know it was rare so i boxed it cause it did less damedge with population bomb. It is now a treasure

With my friend We found a method how to speed up catching Tandemaus in two people. The result is that I now have 60 Tandemauses, 16 evolved Mausholds and one Maushold in the form "Family of Three". My friend doesn't have any FoT yet :( We'll try it again tomorrow. I wonder if the probability of evolving is 1 in 100 or 1 in 25.

Here's the procedure:
1) I sat down with my friend at the pokestop and we created/leaved the party until the "Make 10 Nice Curveball Throws" party challenge came up.
2) We both accepted and completed the challenge. The reward is either "Tandemaus" or "Koffing". Statistically, it works out to about 50:50. There are other similar party challenges, but we found this one the easiest to complete.
3) It is advantageous to catch pokemons using the red ball - there is a greater chance of failing to catch them, and you get more "nice throw" per pokemon for the challenge.
4) when catching Tandemaus, I gave it pinap berry and had a mega evolved Lopunny = in the result I got 14 candy for one Tandemaus
5) We put a module in the pokestop, and when we ran out of pokemon nearby, we moved on to the next pokestop.

Give it a try, there's still three days left.

Extra trick: If you have 1-2 more friends, it's a good idea to start a party of two, cast that party challenge, and then add two more friends, because the challenge will remain on difficulty for two, but you can do it with four.

Tip: You can predict if it's a family of three do NOT evolve everything like mystic did if you don't have the three form the evolution will be a silhouette since you don't have it

i think the way that the 3 maushold evolution works is the same as the rockruff dusk form, you could get either a regular rockruff with choice of or midday or midnight form, or you could get a special rockruff with only one possible evolution, the dusk form, so instead of evolving all of your mausholds, seeing as you already have the 4 maushold in the dex, wait until you see an evolution that hasnt registered in your dex :)
