Selective hearing all parents have it like i be whispering at 3am on my phone and bam my mother just walks in and tells me to shut up but when im yelling at the top of my voice to answer her from my room she "can't hear" me

That's with my dad and I asked him to make it make sense and he said that he just doesn't acknowledge it when I scream "yeah" or "what!" But when I mumble his or my grandma's attention is on me so when I whisper or mumble they pay more attention to it.
