What To Do If Power Supply 12V DC Adapter For CCTV Camera NVR & Security System Failed/Malfunctioned

So what do you do when the power supply or 12V AC to DC adapter for your home or business security system failed, broken or malfunction and you don't have a spare (ideally you should always have extra power supply on hand).

Well, even if you don't have the extra branded power supply for your CCTV cameras, DVR (digital video recorder), NVR (network video recorder) or other other security system equipment, don't panic. Most likely you'll have a few 12V DC adapter lying around your home or workplace.

All you have to do is make sure that the output is about the same. Most camera uses 1A and DVR or NVR requires 2A or more. Just make sure that the insert for the port is the same size. If they're not, you may have to cut the old connector and connect and rewire to the temporary adapter.

I require a larger power supply because I’m using a 300’ cord. I’m guessing a 12v 12A power supply to get enough power to the camera so it will light up at night (irs).

Last night I noticed my recording wasn't working on my camera system, but the camera's were still working, well this morning the entire box was out no power at all, not this brand of camera's but it's a POE...does that sound like a power supply issue to you..

I wander why night vision light stops working on hiseeu camera. It was working fine until recently, only it shows darkness.

Some cords are 20 and some 22awg. Why aren't these cords defined? I'm looking at a 209 dollar camera marked down to 75 dollars but it only has a 1m cable in 2-3 branches. Certainly requiring more cables. All they needed was to have one you could attach toa a light wiring instead. Then you need wifi or SD card to record it.ive spent a week looking at options of a few dozen set ups and none all are vague and not explain enough to decide what gives a good picture, how to wire, how to see and how to record either through memory card or dvr with 1-2 tb. Why can't they give you what you need instead of piece mill guessing?

Hello..i have trouble man can you help me please..i used ip camera use hiseeu i downloaded alview app and used 2 years no problem ..10 days i cant use when use app on my cell coming uo connection is waeks please tap to refresh ..actulaay i use router with sim card and internet is ok signal through wifi too in same time i connected my camers through wlan cable also same problem..but i have other camera reolink it works ok... what can i do i confused.

i absolutely love the system but i am constantly having to replace the power cable. to me this is a HUGE inconvenience because of location of cameras. 😡 this is very disappointing because otherwise the system is perfect.
