On the 6th of June the Allies landed in Northern France, [6] which landing quickly expanded and Paris was liberated in August.

By December almost all of France was liberated and the Allies started to enter core-German territory.
You probably know how Germany attempted to knock France out again, just like how they did in 1940, by going through the Ardennes Forest.

This operation was of course called the Battle of the Bulge.
