Four occupied regions in Ukraine are voting in Moscow-backed referendums on whether to become part of Russia. The move sets the stage for Moscow to annex the areas amid apparent setbacks in its 'special military operation' in Ukraine.
The referendums are being held in Russian-occupied Ukrainian regions of Donetsk and Luhansk as well as in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia. Ukraine & most western nations have been quick to denounce the referendums as illegal.

It seems that the international press is more interested in nuclear war than the interested parties. For once Russia mentions nuclear, the press says it ten times.

Less about nuclear war (although that is a possibility) than it enables Putin to put conscripts into the battle. He can't send them abroad, under Russian law, but he can deploy them in Russia. And if Russia annexes areas, then he can put troops there.
How families will react to the body bags is something I don't think he cares about, but he should.

Don't stop counter-offensing, Ukraine! Don't let their threats hinder you from fighting for freedom.

If the citizens of these regions hate Ukraine so much, then why the hell do they live there?

It's an admission that Russia has lost the war

If so, Putin's justification on any basis is only good in his own mind. All eminent nations of the world have re-confirmed their commitment to integrity of national borders of all countries of the world. Putin is alone in his corner, for China, India and Turkey also clearly stated their position on the matter.

The UN laws must be changed that the country that is directly involved in an invasion cannot vote let alone veto.

A master stroke?! When the Soviet Union invaded Poland (she was already busy fighting Germans then) in September 1939, it carried out similar referenda a month later in the occupied territories of what is today western Belarus and western Ukraine. This is a page from the old Soviet textbook on land grabbing.

Ukraine should also hold Referendums of citizens that fled that part of what Russia invaded and I am sure it will be a higher vote to stay as Ukraine's state only fair

Not a master stroke; a flailing attempt is more like it

Be mindful of Fearful People because their words and actions come from a position of fear. They will cause you to be fearful when there is no reason to be fearful and behave out of your normal character.
