The Tata Ultra bus is a popular choice in the school, staff, corporate, luxury tours, and travel segments. It is available
in diesel, CNG, and electric options, with lengths ranging from 8.8 to 10.8 meters. The LPO construction features a
passenger door located ahead of the front axle.
The bus comes with two engine options for diesel and CNG, offering 160 HP with 475 Nm torque and 125 HP with
470 Nm torque, respectively. The driver can switch between light and heavy driving modes for better acceleration
and fuel efficiency.
The Ultra bus is built on the Tata Straight frame chassis with high strength steel and comes with a 6-speed gearbox
with cable shift mechanism. The bus is available in both AC and Non-AC options, with different seating
arrangements, including bench-type seats for school buses, high-back individual seats for corporate travel, and highback reclining and push-back seats with 3-point seat belts for deluxe and luxury applications.
The bus also features individual USB charging points for all AC buses and optional charging points for Non-AC buses.
The AC buses are equipped with a company-fitted 3D Scroll Compressor integrated with Valeo Roof mounted AC
Unit, providing the best-in-class cooling even in extreme summers.
The Ultra bus has a dual-stage parabolic suspension in the front and rear, providing a comfortable and smooth ride.
It also comes with many features in BS6 Phase 2, such as Cruise control for driver comfort, Fuel Monitoring system,
Torque-based Gear Shift Advisor for better fuel efficiency, Unitised wheel bearing (THU), and 4G telematics
connectivity.
Other features include DRL, cornering lamp, and fog lamp for better visibility and aesthetics, pneumatically
controlled driver suspended seats for fatigue-free driving experience, electronic stability control for enhanced
passenger safety, manual LED destination board, and improved gradability and reduced noise, vibration, and
harshness. The bus also offers reduced steering, acceleration, and breaking effort by 20% to 30%.
