The Eternal Return: Nietzsche, Deleuze and Justin Murphy

In this video I tackle the notion of the eternal return created by Nietzsche and then later developed by Deleuze in a unique way. Specifically, I relate the notion to the way we make decisions, and the means by which we can make authentic decisions after the death of God.

I also critique Justin Murphy's take on the same topic. His video can be seen here:

Cool, this is the best explanation of Nietzsche and Deleuze on this subject among the Youtubers I have seen! -- The guy you mentioned I doubt whether he understands Nietzsche or Deleuze at all. As you explain perfectly clear and well the "Sartre" part of Nietzsche, the real project of N has another aspect which makes his project even harder: namely, while one has to carry all the burdens at every moment when making every decision, one has to simultaneously understand that the "absolute freedom" is also an illusion, which is just the surface over the historical roots and underlining drives. Hence the free spirit has to understand he is "free" and "not free" at once, has to take the burden of eternal return, but also knows his fate, at the same time at every moment.

I'm so glad that YT's algorithm brought me to your channel! I fully agree with your take on de-basing Justin M.'s oedipalisation (and Christianisation) of Deleuze. Murphy and Land are accelerating Deleuze's philosophy straight into the black hole of fascism (or 4chanism). They are doing to Deleuze the same thing that Hitler did to Nietzsche. The paradox is that they are using deleuzean strategy of "taking philosopher from behind", namely taking one sentence from _A Thousand Plateaus_ out of context and building a monster out of it. That is why people like you have an important role in debunking, de-basing and schizoanalysing all the "Murphies" of the world, similar to what review _L’Acéphale_ did against the appropriation of Nietzsche in the 30-ies.

There are many nuances of the universe "Deleuze", and consequently so much space for content creation. Content creation which is simultaneously an assemblage of announcement of actual "media that is the message", and free labour for the corporate (the molar)… Don't let that stop you from doing a good job! I'm looking forward to seeing your upcoming videos (sub'd!).

P.S. Check out some of my videos on _Cinema1_ on my channel!
