Ben has more hope than I do. I’m in my 60’s, disabled and living on a fixed income. The anger, evil and lies I experience on a daily basis are beyond anything I ever imagined experiencing. So much damage has been done by power hungry leaders that I see no way back. I’m deeply saddened to even admit this, but unity among all USA people now seems like a pipe dream and not even Donald Trump and his policies can change that. We have ventured too far into darkness .

The problem is that Democrats are not "Americans" anymore, they're "Europeans", and we have seen which way the Europeans have gone. So, no, I am not optimistic that half of this country will see the federal government in the way Ben would like.

What makes America great, and any free country divided into different territories, provinces, states, etc. is that if you have a decentralized (small) federal government you have an diverse set of communities you can choose to live in. And with America made up of 50 states, the ability to find a place that suits you is fantastic.
