He captures the problem correctly. SCMP should have added a few more points. He wanted to let the talent grow and provide jobs requiring expertise as a bulk of the new generation is being "wasted" as they cannot use their talents and education in the jobs they currently do. Many westerners consider China as a country with cheap unskilled labour useful for only repetitive tasks, and this is true for much of the population but still, a lot of educated people among the labour group simply cannot do tasks using their fully expertise due to lack of other jobs. Premier Li Qiang has identified this perfectly.

Hu Chunhua despite being 10 years younger of retirement age was not included in top 10 of CPC. One more thing, Lijian Zhao was also demoted. And yes most common connection is either they belong to Hu's camp or have studied in foreign countries.

These senior officials all have professional background, not mouth-clipping politicians.

Perhaps China may sell 60 tunnel boring machines to Australia to drive between Sydney and Melbourne via Canberra and Albury to put the Japanese SC maglev in a 11 psi tunnel that will allow the 700 km/h overnight container trains to earn enough to keep the daytime fares below planes.

It could be built in five years with a growing return as there is no moving parts and with everybody acting like adults in the south China sea while allowing Taiwan to be independent on condition it did not threaten China.

We can look Li Qiang failed policies in Shanghai during COVID-19 lock down. Now he is the premier of China, therefore China is in big trouble now. We can compare Ursula von der Leyen a German politician. She was Germany Minister of Defense, during the time she completely destroyed Germany Army, than she got promotes to EU President and we know how this is going for EU!
