Prime Minister Narendra Modi is unlikely to visit South Africa later this month to attend the BRICS summit and instead he will participate virtually, Reuters has reported. The news agency reported that there is a growing discomfort in New Delhi over India's membership of China-dominated groupings like BRICS and SCO amid growing bonhomie with the U.S.-led West. Watch the video for more details.

Sad, but Good news if India leaves BRICS. Impossible to have one member state who is against a BRICS gold backed currency, which is one of, if not the main BRICS objective.

All those other countries will be happy to see that back of yoyo India. India is good at appearing first at the front line, then does it normal disappearing act.

India should remove itself from BRICS and SCO, since they have different objectives.

India needs to be dominated by a western country such as UK or US, so india should join BBB Build Back Better, G7 and NATO and india will be very happy.

Quite embracing for Modi to attend the summit to explain to his master USA. Just avoid the meeting and says : “sorry I was not there to stop and sabotage the summit, SIR !! “

India doesn't want a new BRICS currency. India doesn't want new BRICS members. I'm not sure what else India doesn't want? But it's increasingly looking like what India does want is to limit BRICS ability to challenge the current world order, to limit challenges to American hegemony. India has chosen to cling to the neo-colonial past rather than participate in the potential new future. The question is - is India white-anting BRICS to please American masters?

Why make life so difficult india? Just leave BRICS and SCO before being ask to do so.

That would be good news for BRCS as it would see up to 40 countries joining and almost all the major oil producers.

The meeting of BRICS in South Africa lost its relevance when they asked President Putin not to attend rather than standing up against the ICC.

Yeah, India should withdraw it’s membership from BRICS & SCO as soon as possible. Don’t waste own and other countries time & effort.

Modi doesn't care about whether India is losing or gain the opportunity but he always makes sure whether his friend Adani gets any business opportunity or not by traveling to SA.

For BRICS & SCO : NO India participation is a blessing, with India there is a big trouble. You can't working with extreme selfish and irresponsible people, they just want to take instead any contribution, this is a fact !
