Kia Cadenza

The Cadenza name is derived from an Italian musical term used to describe an elaborate, ornamental flourish for a concerto or aria. It perfectly symbolizes the dynamic sedans striking design philosophy and upscale image. The 4965 mm long Cadenza will take over the role of large luxury sedan for the Kia marque from the 10-year old Opirus (Amanti in some markets) and is destined to totally transform Kias sales performance in the D2 segment.

I have an '06.5 Optima and I like the updated '09 pretty well. Wish they had redesigned the interior too though, not just the exterior. I got to sit in an '09 SX V6, black with the black sport cloth/lthr interior. Had navigation and paddle shifters. I typically hate black on cars (so hard to keep clean), but I fell in love with this one. The wheels are like a brushed silver finish, not a real shiny finish. I like them. Really handsome car.

The Korean cars manufacturers (Kia and Hyundai are actually owned by the same entity) have invested heavily in their cars, and the quality shows. The Hyundai Genesis winning COTY last year proves it. This looks like a nice ride for the money.

fair enough, btw Im not hatin on kia. I admire that they are trying to compete with the premium brands. I was just saying that for that amount of money I'd rather buy a lex or bimmer. Now if the price was lower, say mid-upper 20's, then I might seriously consider buying the cadenza.

Cool Korean car .. in the back is a new C5 in the front some kind of Astra on the 2/3 price for the basic Astra. Cool !!! Me like :)

Kia's alternate cousin to Sonata is Optima, which will be seeing total makeover next year. Cadenza is an alternate cousin to Hyundai's Grandeur/Azera.

Audi Will Be very Happy that some of their major design features look so alike to KIA

@echukgn this is a german designed car, just so you know it was designed by one of audi's top ex chief designers peter schreyer that has now joined kia, and the design company is based in germany.

I also think it's Kia's alternate cousin to Hyundai's new Sonata... now that ex-Audi Peter Schreyer moved to Korea his design signature's been mostly carried-over and it shows from compact Cerato and now Cadenza.

@vitessemeister Peter Schreyer is head of Kia's design department. I am sure he has his own 'style' since he not only worked for Audi previously but designed the original and iconic AUDI TT...

@Menck1 yeah it'll begin in march excluding europe and the US but it'll be available there in near the ends of 2010... at least certainly in the us... and it is built to replace the optima.. so why not in europe and worldwide...

@bondage2012 Kia also means "rising up", which is the definition of the term they used. not K.I.A. which is the military term.

06.5-08 Optima was my favorite Kia until they release the Borrego. I think this Cadenza is going to rival a lot of high-end luxury cars for A LOT less money.

@BOWENSblog i agree with u, but the problem is our dealers rising the prices in crazy way, for example cadenza full option will cost 12.000 kwd while Mercedes benz c class sport package costs over 13, 000kwd , so only 1, 000 kwd, id prefer the BENZ .

You're right. After all Mercedes Benz ripped off the Lexus GS for their new E Class. I was heartbroken.

@palebeachbum The Optima SX is a REALLY nice car, the wheels are just a compliment. Powdercoat the wheels a Gunmetal color against the Midnite Blue exterior paint and we would have a VERY nice looking car.
