Shelter Me, the inspiring PBS series that celebrates shelter pets with positive and uplifting stories, is more than just a TV show -- it's become a whole phenomenon, including a special album, Songs For Shelter Me.
After being commissioned to write the theme song, singer-songwriter Mindy Smith decided to commit herself further into the project, recruiting fellow indie artists to submit their songs of inspiration for the album.
"Who Saved Who" is a beautiful duet with Mindy Smith and Matthew Perryman Jones and is featured in the current episode, "Shelter Me: New Beginnings." Anyone who has ever loved an animal will be deeply moved by this video, which features touching scenes of just how much one little life can matter.
A portion of Songs For Shelter Me's proceeds will benefit shelter animals by helping transport pets from overcrowded shelters to areas of the country where they are quickly adopted, assist with spay-neuter programs, education initiatives and innovative adoption programs.
Other artists on the compilation include Kris Allen, Kate York, Korby Lenker, SHEL, Peter Bradley Adams, Amy Stroup, Maggie Eckford, Trent Dabbs, and Jenny and Tyler.
Hosted by Allison Janney, the Shelter Me series was created by filmmaker Steven Latham.
