I think that there is not a single part of me which does not have a goosebump. Breathtaking Björk composition along with a most incredible dive.

'Gratitude', a gorgeous Björk composition featuring the recessive American songwriter Will Oldham and harpist Zeena Parkins.
The song’s lyrics derive from real letters sent by Japanese citizens to America’s General Douglas MacArthur in 1946, thanking him for lifting a ban on Japanese whaling around the Antarctic. This seems a remarkably magnanimous act on the part of the letter writers given that the US bombing of Hiroshima was still fresh in their collective memory. As Oldham sings, we intuit that the gift being wrapped on-screen—a prehistoric fossil relative of the modern krill “that feeds the noble whale”—is for MacArthur.

I’d love to hear Bjork sing this, possibly add this to her next live show

This is a soul lifting but at the same time heart breaking song. They've done it so well. I wish there was an instrumental version of this.

Thank You Jim for your insightful comment. I felt the pace of the movements from the free diver matched pretty well with the pace Will Oldham was singing the lyrics.
