This is a story from rural India. Once my 10 yr old cousin was playing around with a tennis ball and the ball went inside the room( which was our shop but it was closed down for months so it was little dark inside) . She tried to get the ball behind the sacks and plastics and something bit her twice .She thought it was a bee..she ran out of the room crying to my aunt and my aunt just applied some homemade paste at the back of her palm ( which is where the snake had bitten) .It was very painful to her but the neighbours kept saying its just a bee sting.After 15 -20 mins my aunt was convinced that it was something serious and she was struck with the fear that it might be a snake. The nearest hospital was around 2 hours from the house.So she call a neighbour who had a vehicle and by the time my cousin reached the hospital the tissue at the back of her palm had started melting and her mouth was full of lather. Luckily she survived and is fit and fine after 5 years of the incidence.

The villagers opened that shop and then they spotted a black cobra which they tried to kill but it slithered away somehow.
Still thankful to god that she survived.

My grandmother raised alligators in a pool in the backyard until the city made her get rid of them. This was years ago I'm 64. I don't think I want to raise alligators...
