I am surprised that I shouldn't stretch the elastic. Thank you for showing so many ways.

Would you demonstrate applying clear elastic and the situations it would be used for, if you haven't already. Thank you!

Great tutorial! I've been using the first method, but I'll try the others. I'd lod to see how to start and finish FOE and bias tape!

@Sew Anastasia - that double needle stitch looks interesting, reminiscent of the Levi's Jean golden thread stitch seen at the outside of the leg.

I'm lucky enough to own a coverstitch, so that's what I use! 😉

I've always wondered if there was an elastic you used on underwear which you didn't have to stretch as you sewed it. I've seen this FOE at my local stores, but, never knew how to sew it onto my projects. Looks easy - peasy !!! 😉

what about using triple stitch vs twin needle which one is better for fold over elastic

I compared a 2 mm separation twin needle at 5 mm stitch length vs zigzag stitch default settings and I found that the zigzag stitch is significantly stretchier than the twin needle stitch, is that expected behaviour? or am I doing something wrong ?

when you use the fold over elastic method, does the size of the fabric have to be a little bigger than the size needed? For example, lets say I was making a bol cover, I would have to sew the fold about 1/4 to 2'' bigger than the size that I need to cover the bol. Same thing with the fold over method or no? thx

Good tutorial but since you used matching thread its too hard to see the final result .

Why don't you stretch it as you sew? I am working on some wrist elastic and it feels like the only way to make it tighter around the wrists.
