How badly do you want a shiny Lexus logo on your grille? If you can do without the bling, you have to hear about the 2015 Toyota Venza crossover.
The Venza is basically a Lexus RX 350 by another name. And if you ask us, the Toyota's better-looking. Under the skin, the RX and the Venza have much in common, so there's plenty of quality engineering on tap. If you like everything about luxury crossovers except the high price tag, this Toyota's a compelling candidate. Here are five reasons why the smart money's on the Venza.
World-Class Engine
The Venza's 3.5-liter V6 is the same one you get in the Lexus RX, and it's one of the best. It'll do 0-60 in about 7 seconds flat, and when you pull out to pass, you're off to the races. Toyota also offers a 4-cylinder engine in the Venza, but why bother? The V6 matches the four's fuel economy with 26 miles per gallon on the highway, and as far as performance on the road, it's just no contest.
Uptown Styling
Although the Venza doesn't wear a Lexus badge, there's no reason why it couldn't. This is one sleek crossover, with muscular flanks, wraparound taillights and standard 19-inch wheels or available 20-inchers. When you pull up to the curb, you'll turn heads like you're driving a true luxury vehicle. If you ask us, the Venza is one of the best-looking crossovers on the market.
Spacious Cabin
Some crossovers try to squeeze a third row of seats in the back, but the Venza focuses on making its two rows as pleasant as possible. The standard power driver's seat provides a wide range of adjustments, and the rear seats are adult-friendly, even for 6-footers. As an added bonus, the rear seatbacks recline, so it's easy for your passengers to catch a few Zs. The Venza may only have seating for five, but Toyota made sure that everyone's going to ride in real comfort.
Comprehensive Features
Even the base Venza LE comes loaded up, with standard features such as automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a 6.1-in touchscreen. Step up to the XLE, and you get a power lift gate, keyless start and leather seats. Want more? The Limited boasts xenon headlights with LED accents, a panoramic sunroof and JBL audio. Once again, the Venza delivers a luxury experience at a subluxury price.
Composed Driving Character
On the road, the Venza's a cool customer. Despite those big wheels, the ride stays nice and smooth, and there's not much road noise to interrupt your flow. We like the carlike handling, too. The Venza's based on the Camry sedan, and you can feel it from the driver's seat.

My wife and I bought a 2013 Limited AWD brand new in late 2012. We still have it (Sept 2019). We love it. I was disappointed to hear Toyota discontinued it a few years ago. The engine is fantastic, so is the AWD system. It's a wide vehicle and has a lot of leg room in the back seat. People that get in the back always comment on how much they like it. We have the attitude black model which looks amazing when it's waxed and polished. The 20" wheels look great but they can make the ride a little hard over potholes and the like. Overall it looks and feels like a Lexus to me, which is one of the reasons we bought it. It still looks great and has aged very well. We hope to keep it for a long time yet.

The 3rd gen RX was built off of the Venza. This crossover is not a Camry wagon despite what you may have heard. It is built off of the Camry platform just as every other Toyota vehicle (Avalon, RX, 1st gen Highlander etc.). I love this car and most people love it once they see it up close. I believe that the style is so different that it will age well. To truly understand what Toyota was going for, you need to spend at least a month with it. Easy load access, great visibility and excellent passenger/cargo room.

If Toyota is smart, they will bring this vehicle back. (with a newer version) It was the bridge between the RAV4 and the Highlander. They do need a midsize two row suv/cuv.

The plastics on the inside of this thing are not great, so you're definitely not going to feel like you're in a Lexus in that regard. But I had heard elsewhere that this thing has a busy ride, so I'm surprised they say it has a good ride. Considering Toyota usually doesn't have great designs, this one has aged quite well in the looks department. A shame they got rid of it!

Highly disappointed that is vehicle is no longer made. I am coming out of a Toyota minivan ( all kids in college now), but I don''t want another van or a bulky SUV. This is a perfect option for me. I hope Toyota brings it back soon.

It is nice car. However, lacks power if we consider 4 cylinder. 4 cylinder horsepower is as equivalent as any sedan and venza weighs 300-400 pounds more than any sedan. Also, it just provides more shoulder room as compared with any other sedan. Front leg room is less as compared with accord. Ride is not smooth, also cabin is noisy. Noisy cabin is common with toyota's. Fuel economy is horrible. Better to stay with sedan like accord.

I had one from 2011 to 2014. It was a lease, for the most part it was an enjoyable ride but mpg was at best 19-20. I am a conservative driver so I was disappointed with the fuel economy and mind you it was fwd. I'm sure the numbers would have gone down if i had gotten a awd. For the most part the interior was nice but the center console lacked pizzaz, breaking distance was awful cause its such a heavy car. I was thankful that I had gotten this car as a gift in high school but i told my parents that the next one we should get should be the prius V. but that too was a disappointment. hence the reason we don't buy Toyota anymore.
