What are your Stormlight Archive theories?

Jay, the “subject” of the death rattle is the person who dies and speaks those dying words! Not the person the death rattle pertains to. It’s “test subject” subjects.

The Words of Radiance summary was masterfully done. I really appreciated that and felt like I just reread the book so thank you for that!

I learned about Brandon and The Stormlight Archive about 4 months ago. Blasted through books 1-4 plus the 2 novellas. I finished Rhythm of War, ironically today, 10 DAYS! before December 6th and the release of book 5. Can't wait.

I really like the theory that Ishar will be Odiums champion. From a fighting perspective, there are not many people who could take down Bondsmith Dalinar, but we saw in RoW that Ishar definitely could. Plus, Ishar already thought Dalinar was an agent of Odium, I could see him being tricked into thinking he is Honor’s champion and Dalinar is Odiums champion.

About the Adolin becoming Odium’s champion theory:

In ROW before leaving for Shadesmar he has a final argument with Dalinar, in which Dalinar explicitly asks Adolin if he believes Taravangian’s methods of ends justify means are better than Dalinar’s own, and Adolin says neither since he’ll make his own method.

Thought it was pretty interesting how that direct comparison was shown us… I actually think he’s gonna be Odium’s champion

Regarding theory 1: Chanarach was also the only Herald not present during the night of Gavilar's assassination. Apart from Taln of course. So we know it was her who died.

Jay, I finished listening to book 4 a couple days ago and have literally been waiting for your next video. Good call making a theory vid!

I know I'm late to this video, but I think Kal won't die, but he almost does. He could be saved by someone, and Kal will say, "I'll accept I'll sometimes need to be saved." Or something like that

It's interesting how some seemingly mutually exclusive theories turn to be true simultaneously.

I'm personally on board with the Gavinor theory, there is another death rattle I think could be related: "So the night will reign, for the choice of honor is life..." Seems to me to suggest that Honor's champion will refuse to kill Odium's. Not necessarily Gavinor, but certainly someone the champion could beat, and simply refuses.
