I gotta agree on the lock face geometry. Their lockups seem extra solid and I've never had up/down issues, which I'm a super stickler about detecting even the tiniest shifting.

Their weakness is their cheap hardware, including their generic little thumb studs they always use. Clips seem to be done well. They fit their caged bearings to roll in a deep-tracked steel washer, which some people may like; but it is really unnecessary and makes upgrading or changing to other bearings like Skiffs difficult if even possible (if you're into that).

Don't know how good their heat treatments are, and their blade finishing is usually just average for the pricing.

Thanks for covering the new Goblin XL. I saw it on Amazon a few days ago. Amazon lists this knife as having 20CV yet the photo literally shows S35VN. Any word on this discrepancy?

Amazon could have wrong info but sometimes photos of the prototype get released then used in marketing. Makes one wonder that if you order it, which will you get? The customer needs correct info before spending their hard earned money.

Prior to 2010s, the blade shape on the ECHIS would have been referred to as a Semi-Skinner. It is a term Bob Loveless used. Now everybody is calling it a Nessmuk. The blade in Nessmuk’s book has a hump on the spine going down to the point which is below the center line of the knife.

I have a Kansept Korvid M just cuz it looked cool. It has a very strong detent that's impossible to overcome when trying to reverse flick or thumb open. It's basically flipper tab only. I wont trust another Kansept.

Not only does putting the lockbar on the inside weaken it, but also makes it ALOT easier to slip! There's a reason they have been putting it on the outside forever lol
