The UNTHINKABLE Happened When I Played CarlSagan42's Hack...

So @CarlSagan42 released a new hack called "Carl Is Such A Nice Guy". I played the hard version. Chaos ensued.

I talked to Carl after playing the hack and apparently I had a 1/256 chance of glitching the end and not getting the ending lol. Here is how Carl explained it to me:

"Every time you go from one screen to another (even at the very beginning, like when you get pushed off the edge into 1-1) every time you fall from one screen, into the portrait screen, then again down off that screen back to the previous level. The SNES keeps track of the screens in its memory. Because the SNES has limited memory, it can only store 255 values before it literally runs out. You hit that limit, it ran out of memory, and it just dumps you into some preset level because it can't go to the next screen anymore. Then it restarts from 0 and counts back up to 255. Literally while rolling over from 255 to 0, you were at this screen, the final possible screen before credits"

So yeah, basically the biggest way to DGR an ending ever bahahahaha

I think Carl should really consider to make a DGR version next time he creates another Carl vs. Juz romhack. Basically a normal version but DGR-ing it will lead you to a secret ending.

btw I watched the entire stream archive on Twitch (because I was late to the party). And wow, what a doozy trip it was! (took me longer than the stream's duration to finish it because I had to rest every once in a while). And the ending was just So Stunning! :D

This was the literal first troll level I played, and the man himself Carl came in to my stream while I was playing in front of a few friends (I was nervous as hell and didn't expect him to pop up. Didn't help that I have no stream experience so I had no idea what I was doing). I forgot to save my VOD on twitch and forgot to hit record on OBS so I got no clips to send him; I wanted my reaction, at minimum, for when I entered the 4th screen with the wind. Better luck next time!

He was such a nice guy for making this, that's for sure. I even had some wonderful flashbacks when I got to the Wind section from seeing everyone else play his MM2 level :) I'm messed up now switching back to Invictus.
