Ok the stepmom is evil, obviously, but that dinner sounds awkward as hell. Like, she's meeting her boyfriend's family for the first time, and it sounds like they spent the whole dinner talking about how great his late wife was. Did they ask her anything about herself? Try to get to know her? Or were they just like "Hey, nice to meet you. Anyway, his first wife was amazing!"

Them saying she is equaly pretty isn't a compliment at all...its so backhanded. They constantly mentioned the wife how ''perfect her pie was'', step mom isn't competing with a ghost, even worse she is competing with the IDEA yall have in mind, the idolizazion of loved memorys. Possibly not even reality but glorifyed. Impossible to compete. And yall started it not the atep mom, she didn't want to compete? And OP saying step mom was ''bitter'' is def the wrong choice of word, yall were hurtfull!!

Like I def think step mom should have left after that dinner and just simply broke up...I don't think it was right what she did...but that family had it lowky comming for them. Atleast 20% deserved tbh.

I honestly feel bad for both parties. I assume the OP was an adult so burning the last traces of the OP's mother was beyond disrespectful. However from the get go the family kept talking about the mom in front of the step-mom on the first family meeting too. The dad/family disprescted the step-mom tbh. I hope the dad and OP heals as this was probably traumatic for both but hope the step-mother finds a partner and doesnt get compared to all the time.

3:20 she wasn’t bitter at first i’m sure. but it’s difficult to be always compared to someone who would have your very place if they were still here. you guys honestly made her that way

i’m mean come on?? “you burned all my wife’s things” i see no problem in still loving your late partner and carrying on their memory through belongings and what the stepmom did is horrible but it’s obvious he wasn’t ready for a relationship. he was looking for a replacement, everyone is an ah here.

I thought my stepmother was super evil but this lady gets the award for being evil!! My stepmom hated me and was super jealous of me because I’m the spitting image of my mom and my dad’s family made sure to make very clear… I left my own family and life here in Tennessee for three months.. my stepmom had a horrible stroke and her daughter lives 3 hours away from her!! When I got ready to leave she threw a fit and screamed at my dad why’s she got to go back… my jaw hit the floor I left Tn and went to Arizona for 3 months!! Didn’t know anyone but my family and was stuck in the house 24/7!! My dad bought me a new bathing suit and I kid you not this woman threw a fit about getting some new diamond jewelry because he bought me something so now he owed her something also… 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ they’re divorced now but I did what I did because she was family and I knew no one wanted to take care of her!! Like I said her own daughter was only 3 hours away and didn’t even come to visit her the entire 3 months I was there!! We won’t even get into the fact that when my baby brother passed away when we were in the office talking about organ donation(which was hard enough as it was because it took a few of us to talk my mom into organ donation!! This women asked the people if we could just sell his organs to pay for the funeral because she didn’t want to have to help pay to bury my brother and show him some respect!! That showed her true colors!! She made it clear they also wouldn’t be at his funeral they had to leave early because her dog was I’ll never forgive her or my dad for that one!! He didn’t stay for his only son’s funeral because this crazy ass jealous evil witch of a woman!! Now my oldest son is married to someone just like my ex stepmom!! 😩😩

Okay, so it’s extremely cruel that she burned your mother’s things. But your family should have NEVER compared her to your dead mother. Your family isn’t over your mom’s death, neither is your father. Imo it’s your father’s fault for still finding someone new even though he wasn’t over your mother. He should’ve taken time to move on before finding someone new. But your family’s comments and comparing her to your dead mother was still disrespectful. But still, what she did was extremely cruel.
