I just liked this scene and wanted to have the version without credits.

When you think about it, this is actually quite horrifying. Hearing the screams and the chaos that's happening in the background, it may seem that this kids show just became darker than you can ever imagine

Thing about this is, this is scary no matter what age you are cause it's left up go your imagination- if you're 12 years old and haven't seen much gore, your thoughts will still go to the scariest thing imaginable. If you're a full adult, you'd probably imagine people being burned alive, people seeing family members die before their eyes, people desperately trying to save themselves to no avail.

Y’know what might’ve made this even more scary but I’m glad they didn’t do it? Hearing Bill laugh maniacally in the background.

I like that this episode begins cheerily, slowly becomes sad on Mabel's part, and then ends HORRIBLY for EVERYONE.

The contrast between the happiness of the invitation flyer and all the travesty happening in the background is the grim reminder of how Dipper and Mabel's childhood innocence is truly over.

Alex Hirsch and the creators were creative geniuses behind this one shot. Whoever thought this credit scene up, incredible. It's all Foley audio, but it conveys such deeper senses of dread and horror. As an adult, I appreciate amazing but horrifying storytelling like this. Even the whirl of the helicopter implies there's greater forces of the US govt trying to contain the horrors of what is happening. It's apocalyptic, and even nearly 10 years later I appreciate this shot so much for telling a deeper and darker story, even if it's not explicitly on screen.

This was so nicely done, the screams in the background really help show how serious things have become
Gravity falls is definitely a top 3 cartoon of all time in my opinion

Mabel-we are exactly one week away from our 13th birthday

(Ford shows dipper the rift cracking)

Ford-if it breaks it will cause reality as we know it to completely unravel a hypothetical and catastrophic event I call weirdmaggedon

Wendy-if you could avoid growing up do it

Ford-I need to train an apprentice to help me fight monsters, solve mysteries, and protect this town

Dipper-what are you saying

Ford-what would you say about staying in gravity falls after the summer ends and becoming my apprentice

Dipper-(sigh) there’s also Mabel she be alone in California

(Hears a noise)

Ford-we’ve reactivated the (gasp) security system

(Ford gets captured and dipper threatens to shoot the flying saucer)

Ford-this is what I was talking about how many twelve year olds do you think are capable of doing what you’ve just done

(Mabel’s walkie talkie and hears dippers voice)

Dipper-I’ll do it I’m gonna stay

Mabel-fords apprentice

Dipper-this is a huge opportunity for me

Mabel-well it’s a horrible opportunity for me you’re the only person I can count on and now you’re leaving me too I just wish summer could last forever

Dipper-things change summer ends

(Mabel runs away crying pulls up her sweater)

Bill-mabel it’s me

Mabel-time travel guy what are you doing here

Bill-I just need you to get a little gizmo for me from your uncle

(Dipper reaches something in his backpack but it was an invitation of Mabel’s realizing it’s the wrong backpack)

Dipper-oh no the rift

(Mabel hands over the rift bill destroys it and reveals himself and weirdmaggedon begins)

Ford-we’re too late it’s the end of the world

(Bill laughs and comes close to the screen)

I guess we realized that this show is both a kids slash adult show, it turned out to be two for the price of one like the goosebumps show. Cool huh?
