Показать описание
In the previous lecture we learned about the convergence of a Fourier series which expands a piecewise smooth function as an infinite sum of sine and cosine modes. However, when performing separation of variables we saw that it was more common to encounter infinite series of just sines or just cosines. In this lecture we discuss the convergence properties of these sine and cosine series, while also showing how they relate to the Fourier series presented previously. Numerous examples are provided throughout to illustrate the theory.
