This video talks about my experience with customers and stories about pennies while working a job at subway. I also love Ryan Trahan and his $0.01 series, shoutout to him for inspiring millions.

I understand how good it feels when you make a customers day with some free food. I work at a bakery and we were 5 min before close and this elderly gentleman came in and asked for 4 custard tarts. We were completely sold out of custard tarts so I we gave him a free beesting (which is 2 cakes with cream and custard in the middle which is normally $12.50) and the look of joy on his face was priceless he said that it was his birthday and that nothing had been going well so far, so glad that we could help make his day better.

When I was a young kid/young teen I was homeless for months at a time... were talking like 13 or 14 years old... one of my friends told me if I went to subway and asked nicely they would give me some food.. He was right... For real, whenever I was my hungriest, I would go into any subway and just be honest.. Id tell them I was hungry and had no money, and literally every single time they would give me a 6" sandwich (usually premade behind the counter, idk if this was common in my area or what, or if they just make some random 6s outta the older bread)... I dont remember ever being told no, or to leave... legit, this is one of the reasons why as a grown man now, I don't mind paying 10$ for a tasty sammich... subway fed me when nobody else would... no joke... this guy isnt even an out layer.. subways everywhere are feeding the homeless youth of north america (im in canada)

I once got a free soda from a subway because the guy working at the time noticed I wasnt having a very good day and I didnt have enough for it. I was about to put it back but then he said just take it. I felt kinda bad about it but he was being nice so I was a bit happier in that moment. Just goes to show that some basic human kindness goes a long way.

To that guy who let me take that coke that time in august 2021, thank you for your kindness. I know you'll never see this but you livened up my day a little bit that day.

Reminds me of when I was at checkout getting myself some things at a dollar store and I was 10 cents short. It took a bit to get noticed by the one employee there but they gave me a quarter and that is something permanently engraved in my brain, of someone being nice.

Has a customer ever asked you to make a sandwhich crispy, then yelled at you for you doing the thing he/she asked?

One time I went to subway near my house and forgot my wallet. I told them I would come back and pay, they were so shocked when I actually came back.

From a Canadian, getting rid of the penny sounds scary at first but it's so much better. As you mentioned, it's production cost is more than it's worth, so it's already useless in that regard. And it's just easier to round up or down to the nearest nickel so it doesn't really matter. Less change in your pockets, the government can save money on production costs and (hopefully) use that money for something more important. XD

Fun fact, we had a ½ penny in the 19th century. It was taken out of circulation due to "obsolescence" when it was equivalent in value to today's dime.

When I used to work at subway for 2 months, I used to give shit away all the time. 95% of the time I wouldn't even tell them, I just wouldn't ring up the drink or not charge them for extra bacon. Once a homeless guy bought a 6 inch and I made him a footlong for the same price, and let him stay in the lobby for 2 hours cause it was cold. Most of the time i did that cause it was busy or i just didnt care to be honest, but sometimes i went out of my way to do it.

I appreciate the fact that you rush the narration. It makes it more interesting and less boring.
