Good for him he didn't leave his stuff in the water. But i agree, lifejackets shouldn't even be a question - they save lives...even when he jumped in...could have saved scratching his belly.

Everyone complaining about the speed, but this is exactly what Grady Whites are made for - high speed run through rough ocean waves to get to the good fishing spots quickly. They're one of the best in the world at that. Deep-V hull, high bow, and a stiff heavy body that parts big waves like Moses. You have to drive one to feel the difference with most other boats. The only other boat I've seen that handles ocean sea state like Grady's are HCB, also incredibly smooth.

But yeah it wasn't a good idea to have those folks on the front seat with no lifevests or seatbelts, they should have been in the stern at least. That front seat is for sunbathing once you reach your destination, it's completely unsecured and dangerous to sit there during the fast run out.
