So many fans from other countries and England give him crap, but I've NEVER EVER herd another player ever say a bad word about him. Which proves one thing, fans don't know more than players and coaches. He's one of the best players in the world, so please be quiet trolls!

It's funny, everyone at a high level says he's class but the social media professionals say he's shit. Go figure 😂😂😂

Funny the guy says that if anyone is ill disciplined they get told off. Seems like he cannot apply this to himself with his shoulder charges and poor tackling.

It is true Farrell brings others around him to another standard. Another standard only equaled by the Titanic. Abysmal.

There's more to leadership than discipline and eyeballing someone messing around.

"Tell me you're South African without telling me you're South African" - any post that mentions his tackling

He brought a lot of the best things of the rugby league ethos with him, he’s open and honest and straight talking, his father is exactly the same, what you see is what you get, a lot of the (“ old fart’s) of the RFU would prefer the game to keep it an exclusively upper class image that so many people hate. A lot has been said and printed about him that is total bollocks but none of was accepted by those in the game who know him ..

I think unfortunately people get so caught up in the culture of trashing others on social media that they forget two things: 1. It’s just a game 2. Owen Farrell is a person with thoughts and feelings just like the rest of us. You may not like that fact some of his tackles have been high and they’ve not been picked up by referees, or the fact that he is a passionate competitor that wants to win and sometimes that comes across as him being gobby or overzealous, but that comes nowhere near to warranting the level of abuse he receives. I think he’s partly unlucky being in the England team too, because there is still this notion that the English players are arrogant and need putting in their place. Some of the comments and actions from the likes of Biggar, Sexton and Russell are simply praised as passion, or of it’s cheeky it’s just ‘banter’, whereas if Farrell does it then it’s arrogance or bad sportsmanship. Most supporters of England’s rivals aren’t like that, and enjoy the tongue in cheek banter, whilst accepting it’s just a game and we don’t actually hate one another.

As a lifelong Leicester Tigers fan, thank you for your contribution to the game. Good luck and best wishes for whatever your future holds. Take care. Oh, and say hello to your dad!

What is it about Farrell that upsets some posters so much ? To me he is just a rugby player playing at elite level, and not someone who effects me enough to get upset about.

Yet despite how some fans view him he seems a popular and respected member within the players and rugby community.
Fans will like or dislike players for what's reason real or imaginary.
I dont know him, never met him he seems like a decent guy, unless you know him personally, i dont get why he would upset anyone.

At last he got a red card for his shoulder to the head tackle. He's being doing this for a long time. Maybe now he'll stop. Creep.

Great player. Great kicker. When he attacks the gain line he brings his team forward and they look great. Add to that his clear desire to win!!!

But he sometimes stands way too far behind the play which allows opposition tackle behind the gain line and then they end up in the back foot. Might just be when the forwards aren't delivering clean ball.

He should listen to others and stop shoulder charging people.

The Farrells have become part of the rugby establishment. The father has shown his skills as a manager. The son might be able to do the same. I consider him a very good player - but he was never in the league of the top 10’s. He lacks pace and a good tackle technique balance. However, he is very good and the best England had. On his day, he can be a match winner.

He is one of those people who thinks that he is bigger than the game, and more important than the rest of his team. That mouth of his was one of the reasons England lost against South Africa, and I actually enjoyed watching Wayne Barnes shutting him up with an extra 10m.
