I don’t currently own any reefs (yet) but I’d say that the reason I’ve kept up with my aquariums is that I now have a whole ecosystem in this little box and it’s just so cool to say “I helped make that”. It’s also very calming to sit back after a long day and just watch the fish

For anyone suffering from stress, got you two tips,
☝🏼: watch videos like this one, super relaxing and very very very instructive.
✌🏻: own a reef tank, that’s one of the reason why I own them.
Love the video mate, looking forward to keep in touch with your posts.

I think a big reason why I like my reef tank so much is because in a way we get to play God. We can see our coral grow and flourish thanks to us keeping up good parameters and clean water. Also the beautiful colors on the coral and fish

I would agree with the clowns in a 5g, but clownfish do get pretty big, if youve ever seen full sized clowns. But the behaviour of clowns, not moving far from their anemone, is totally true; mine never stray more than 4 inches from their torch coral, unless they are being fed.

Do you recommend a freshwater tank or a saltwater tank for beginners?!

I’m thinking of stocking for my 5 gallon long, would a yellow coral goby and a Pajama cardinal fish do well?

My thoughts exactly there's not enough food for then they're going to eat something they're scavengers Coral can't run so

I keep my reef because it's a tribute to someone I lost way too early in life. Its a kind of celebration to life and to the time I had with this person. Plus I needed another hobby to keep me busy/distracted

Because my fossil was a fish my moms moms moms moms for about a million years ago was a fish she was scared by bigger fish and evolved once water and land showed up we hopped away from the fish on board that’s what I believe and that’s why we keep fish inside our house it’s our brothers and sisters from along time ago

I can’t afford a reef tank or any kind of salt water tank. Too expensive. But I enjoy seeing other peoples tanks. 🤗

Hey Tom I’m new, I’m currently cycling my tank currently. How do I learn to maintain my levels?

Overdoing it with the “clean up crew” is my pet peeve. People want immediate results, buy way too many, and they end up starving to death. An ecosystem is about balance. You should always start small and slowly add more if your system can support them. Never the other way around.

This was super helpful! I am currently setting up a 20 gallon long saltwater aquarium. Do you have any other recommendations of affordable fish that would do well in there?
