I had someone do this for me, one year, I had to put back a pair of winter gloves—and a man behind me insisted on buying them for me. I was so humiliated at first, but then the man explained his actions to me.

What a wonderful Christmas that was

.He said he’d been homeless once, and knew how it felt not to be able to buy things you need, and he said someone helped him, and he wanted to do this for me at Christmas.

I get free things here in my city, friends and neighbors sometimes help me out, and it’s so appreciated, I can’t begin to say how much. Just that someone respects me and thinks enough of me to help, always amazes me.

However, I also try to always find ways to give, as well. It’s how my mother wanted me to be, and I’ve never regretted it.

I can’t imagine NOT wanting to give back, when someone helps you in return…it feels good. It makes me feel like a human being.

Hopefully this video will help teach others the joy of “ripples.”

Made this grown man cry, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Beautiful story.

Help others not because it may someday come back to you but because it is the right thing to do.

The story... perfect.  I wish they promoted these kind of short films on TV from time to time.

I can see that the director is meticulous. Even took effort to get the uncle to use old $2 notes to buy the cake (in the past)

One of best stories I have ever seen. I actually ran across video more than a year or two ago and to this day I share this video every so often to remind people how big an act kindness can do. I never forget the person behind me once who paid for rest my groceries when I was short on cash or the man and family didn't have enough to pay him and wife and child to catch the bus and older gentleman asked how much he needed and gave it too him. That's what everyone always needs to remember a act of kindness is never forgotten and sometimes it's past on to next person.
I hope they make more stories like this to remind people there still good in this world. :) :) :)

"When I was eight a me and my mother went to a bakery, I wanted a cake but we couldn't pay for it so my mother left it on the counter. Then a lady comes back with the cake I wanted earlier she said ""here you go son, enjoy"" my mother asked for her phone number and instead she wrote a note it read when someone is in need of help you must help them.but before I could say thank you she had ran off 20 years later a old women couldn't pay for her meds so I payed for them. She turned out to be the lady that helped me 20 years ago I told her to always help other people when in need and winked. She looked grateful as I left. Now i can't explain how good I felt all o can say is that her face when I payed for her meds was all, I needed."
