I took Indiana in my prediction video and reading between the lines, Gerry seems to agree, which is reassuring. But what's not reassuring is that the old school big ten teams never play well on the west coast. Well, maybe never is too strong a word, but it's pretty close.

Growing up ND, I like that they're holding their ground and not joining a conference. But felt they kinda caved when they committed games to the ACC. Schedule ain't been the same since (they would never have a Northern Illinois on their schedule).
I don't know if you'd call them rivals in the sense they were the most competitive, but I miss Purdue being on the schedule every season. Same with MSU. The Michigan run was fun and certainly offered the most competitive games overall, but that game isn't as important/nostalgic to me as the aforementioned. No slight to Michigan, but I might even rank Pitt, NW, and Navy ahead of Michigan. Those teams were staples on ND's schedule and they all brought their best, gave ND fits and knocked them off a few times except for maybe Navy.

Saw 3 "preview" shows this week, and not one mention of Maryland. Now, yes, we disappointed. Mich St should NOT have won that game, but come on guys.

Some of us Husker fans knew immediately Frost would never work out at NU - wrong offensive scheme for Big 10. Bo Pelini's 8-9 wins a season just was not satisfactory for Husker fans and no coach since has come close to Bo's record.
There is a "new" hype for NU -
Being the knowledgeable fan base it is - they recognize the outstanding job Rhule is bringing to the program. Not just one area, in ALL areas of the program. Demanding excellence and providing everything possible for each and every player to be successful.
Husker staff consists of 76 individuals just for this sole purpose, with facilities unmatched in the country. Ask the players, the facilities do play a factor in their recruitment decisions.
Rhule is elevating Huskers in this age of collegiate sports in a conference with competition unlike all others in past, with the largest graduating class and highest GPA for any team in Husker history.
