The lesson covers Joe's guitar work from the opening intro riff through the rhythm guitar work and the solo. This is the BEST video for funk 49, of all of them. Thanks for showing the nuances. And it was a blast to hear you play through the song.

This is the nastiest Joe Walsh song ever. Thanks for posting, one of my top five favorite songs.

Good God. What a great break down of this killer tune. I sat and watched it all the way through without even picking up my guitar. That satisfying. Tomorrow I hit it again guitar in hand.

I watched Joe walsh play this on a telecaster last year in Philadelphia. And he went on to say “ it was easier being 20 in the 70’s. Then being 70 in the 20’s. He killed it and mention the tele was his favorite guitar when he started the song. He asked for his favorite guitar to a stage hand, and they handed him his telecaster.

So glad you got the reverse hybrid picking on the declining bend in the intro correct. It makes the sound more like the recording.

As others have remarked, thanks for doing a comprehensive lesson on this, as virtually all I have come across omit the signature short but sweet guitar solo break.

I learned something new today ! Been playing it wrong for years, even teaching it wrong 😂. You’re the deal.

Such a cool classic. I'm a keyboard player in a Joe Walsh tribute band, but on my own time, love noodling around on guitar. Great tutorial!

Thanks! Banger of a tune... Only really just starting appreciating Jo Walsh, and I've heard this tons of times, have it on playlists, and never really thought about who it was.

This is the first guitar song i ever learned as a kid. Loved the James. Gang & wasn’t aware of 48 til a couple months ago

My favorite part is that nasty lick he comes out of the bridge or whatever the middle sexton is called, now that’s funk nasty!

Can’t wait to dig in. That 2nd riff after the break has always been a nemesis. Lol

I really enjoyed this lesson. You tapped into Joe's playing perfectly but still gave it your personality. Thanks Doug. "Mark
