Pull your kids out of school now! Schools need to close down, all of them.

This should've been the case at the start.

The cost of this is not important. The children are.

I'm guessing all those shamed officers from Uvalde will be the first to apply.

Someone needs to make new laws and policies for public high schools. Grading and GPAs should be transparent. Lots of corruption in Texas high schools. Many students with higher SAT and ACT scores ranked lower than their classmates. How and why teachers grade students is a mystery and protected by confidentiality. Students participating and scoring high in UIL and Olympics graded lower than some others. "Some others" with rich parents gets be better grades. Suspicious.

I don't see how it'll cost $100, 000 dollars a year for one armed security person. The average salary for a cop with 10 years service is only $87, 000 and I doubt they'll be hiring security with that much experience.

As a tarrant county resident is don’t mind paying taxes to have an armed cop in every school campus

We have actually developed a program that prioritizes the safety of schools while considering the well-being of children and teachers. Our innovative approach aims to eliminate the perception of intimidating security officers on site. Instead, we have created a system where armed officers seamlessly blend in, becoming more like guardian angels. This program ensures a secure environment without compromising the nurturing atmosphere crucial for effective education. By emphasizing a courteous and professional approach, we strive to create a positive and reassuring presence for everyone in the school community. If officers in uniform are requested, we can of course accommodate that as well.

Abbott is a tool. It never ceases to amaze me with how little thought is actually put into resolving this horrible problem.

I’m a level 3 in Texas and just got hired on with the school district through the police department because of this bill. Such a great opportunity for the private sector

This is something Gavin Newsom in California wouldn't do, but would have them all around his own house

It should also be allowed to let any staff member that chooses to carry a fire arm . I’m willing to bet that not all but a lot of staff members would love to be able to carry

Ok well, let’s see how this works out. What’s going to be Abbott’s excuse when this fails?
