Why The Apple Watch Wasn't Named iWatch

Apple has a long history of blockbuster products like the iMac, iPod, iPhone and iPad. But when it came to their smart watch, they broke from tradition. Deciding on the name Apple Watch instead of iWatch. So why was the ‘i’ prefix not used with Apple’s smart watch? Well that’s what I’ll explain in this video.

The prefix “i” is during steve jobs era, and as new CEO tim cook try to differentiate the naming approach of products that were developed during his era (apple watch, apple pencil, airpods, apple card and the newly airtag)

Personally, I think apple also decided to not name it “iWatch” because it could have made many people feel uncomfortable - as that name could seem to suggest apple would be “tracking” your ever movement & activity you do
