This show always beautifully balance comedy with drama. Even at the height of its ridiculousness and slapstick...it never forgot the seriousness of its setting or the pressure its characters are under as Doctors.

This scene is so Top-Notch: The way Cox just let his emotions out, the frustration that he couldn’t save the patient and his rage and anger on display. This was an Oscar-worthy Scene and I can’t believe how this wasn’t reported. It still messes with my heart 🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭

I cried so hard, my girlfriend has only one kidney, and its not hers. Its sad that one life has to be taken to give another a fighting chance. It would kill me to see her gone from complications with the kidney. I love her so much

This is by far the most heartbreaking thing that could ever happen to a doctor. I'm just surprised that Dr. Cox didn't kill himself after watching his friend die mere hours after they were cutting up together.

It’s even worse. In a prior episode, Dr. Cox said he’d never lost a patient due to making a bad call. Assuming he wasn’t lying, this would be the first time he ever made a bad call and not only did it kill one person, it killed three

That's what he was trying to do untill JD pulled him out. He said later in an episode that he was trying to join the others by drinking on his couch till he died.
