That one guy named Simon with the much older woman probably wouldn’t ever have found anyone to love him bc he’s far too shy and introverted (or was), and it took an older woman with the capability to see past the initial impression that he was making on others and to see what was inside of him. It’s true what they say about there being someone for everyone, regardless of whether we think it’s right for them or not. What she’s given him in terms of self confidence and an ability to communicate with others is beyond measure. If she dies tomorrow he will still have everything that she instilled in him so that he can go on and enjoy his life without her even though I’m sure that he’ll always love her!

Well it’s a different kind of story and they’re obviously in love and it doesn’t really matter how much of an age difference there is if they’re both of the age of consent and they’re not hurting anyone. I’m thrilled for all of them. Who are we to judge whether or not people should be together or not? I think we should mind our own business and let others decide what works for them!

I am 70. I never did find love. I always dated men younger. I look 10-15 years younger than I am. I remember being in a restaurant in NYC. It was cold. I took off my hat and scarf at the counter. The cashier was about 20. He looked at me and said "Oh, so pretty. I bet things were crazy for you 10 years ago." I replied "20 years ago." He looked shocked. He said "20 years! That was a whole lifetime ago." I was in my 50s.
Now at 70, my health has taken a turn for the worst. My face still looks 15 years younger. My body is that of a 90 year old. I thought I would be dating, having fun when I retired. Having a young face I knew I would be dating younger men. Instead I am housebound on a walker, wracked with arthritis. You never know what life has to offer.

I just hope that Ali isn’t using Elaine for the money. That can happen and it’s devastating when these women finally understand that it was just for the money and/or a green card. If they last another 10 years I’ll be amazed that they’ve managed to make it work and he truly cares for her. But I wouldn’t trust him to not be with other women even though it would be terribly disappointing I know that most of the men in this culture believe that having multiple lovers is just a part of a man’s life and that the woman should get on board and not cause much of big deal out of it bc if they do it’s not gonna end well for them!
