Dermatologist's Morning Skincare Routine for Melasma (Hyperpigmentation) | #SHORTS

When you’re pregnant or breast-feeding, melasma and hyperpigmentation can be tough problems to navigate. Featured here are products that I, as a board-certified dermatologist, felt comfortable using while trying to conceive, during pregnancy, and while breast-feeding. I also think these products are particularly nice for those with sensitive skin.

Using multiple, compatible pigment-fighting ingredients (and focusing on sun protection, of course 💁🏼‍♀️) is key!

Hi, is red light therapy good for melasma. I use the Omnilux mask and am concerned whether it’s a negative or positive, thanks 😊

Can you please recommend sunscreens which are budget friendly and ok for realllyyyy sensitive skin cause my skin gets flaky and a rash whenever I use it so I have discontinued use and just skip sunscreen .It's making me worried cause I know it's the most important step. I have tried 3 different sunscreens and they all caused me a rash on face and I know it's the sunscreen cause when I discontinue use it goes away.

Why does my skincare look great, then when I apply sunscreen it looks awful!? I've tried MANY of them. All seem to do the same. I want to try the one in this video. Thanks for your help.

Not a single product I can find where I live…😮

Please do a universal brand drugstore version ( Loreal, Nivea, Neutrogena, etc )

Hasn't the tranxamic acid expired?

Hi Dr. Ellis. I'm from Canada, and am struggling to find a mineral sunscreen for my fair olive skin. The Kinship one you use looks amazing, but I can't get my hands on it. Would you be able to recommend a dupe? Thanks :)

In my melasma AM skincare I use alpha arbutin and then vitamin c. Is better the tranexamic acid than vitamin c?

Thank you for this!!! I have always been weary and lack knowledge as to how vitamin c can be layered (safely) with other products to assist with hyperpigmentation.

I want to follow this regimen because what I’m using is not working with my hyperpigmentation at 62yo. Anyway, the vitaminC and eye cream are on the higher end of my budget. Suggestions?
