Welcome to Deconstruction Gaming’s Guide to Gaming Terms. In this video we will explore the acronym GG. So what does GG mean? GG stands for Good Game.

GG is often said or typed at the end of a game to indicate appreciation for a game well played either to all involved or to your own team. GG can also be used to signify that a game is over with the player who is behind or losing “calling GG” to indicate they are giving up. If there are spectators watching a game, they may also use GG in this form to indicate the losing player is too far behind to win. If the player that is ahead calls GG before a game is over, some may interpret this as bad manners or gloating.

Alternate forms
GGWP – Good Game Well Played: Positive spin
GGEZ – Good Game easy: negative spin, can be seen as insulting opposing players skill level.
