When my daughters first drove as teenagers, I told them - if they think they’re being followed, harassed, or in any way in danger, to drive to the closest police department.

I'm a country woman who lived in the city for awhile, & worked in hospice. I was staying with a patient out in the country, & my relief was a city girl that evening.
I got a frantic phone call about the time she was supposed to arrive for shift change. It was after dark. She said she was in her car on a dead end road surrounded by forest with her headlights on...didn't know where she was, what turn she had taken to get there, & her GPS wasn't working. She was absolutely terrified, & neither I or the patient's family had any idea how to help her. I told her she was much safer where she was at the moment than in her own home back in the city, but of course she didn't believe me with visions of "Deliverance" going thru her head.
We told her to lock her car & ended up calling the county sheriff. Fortunately, they figured out fairly quickly where she might be, & went to her rescue, & guided her to the patient's home.
I know even country folk aren't completely immune to danger, but I was never mugged until I moved to the city, ya'll.

My husband used to work for the forest service. They were always being warned about drug labs and militia in the state and national forests.

Well honestly Carolyn they may of thought you were a meth lab, or a creepy man in an RV!! Ya just never know these days! I've been watching you for years. I still am in sticks and bricks but have been looking at campervans!! I've always admired your courage and how far you've come since the first days with Capone.😊

I grew up on a dairy farm and it’s true about city folks being afraid of cows 🐄 like country people are afraid of city stuff . For my father who can back a tractor with a trailer up a winding hill, don’t expect him to merge smoothly in city traffic…….. 😂❤✌️
I love your channel Carolyn!

❤ You are so right about the media trying to put fear in viewers!! So much "programming" and manipulation . This world is a much better place when one isn't glued to the screen. 😊

Yeah sometimes you just have to move to avoid conflict, I camped about half the time for a few years in the foothills of the north cascades and found I was more comfortable further away from the main roads

I think that was a scary story. I think the scariest was when you were in the Ozarks. I learned about those folks the hard way. We had a fishing cabin there. The sheriff explained the meth labs to us. Being in a motorhome made other "methers" suspicious of you (don't invade their territory) and the non-methers were suspicious of you because so many folks cook in trailers/motorhomes. We don't have a fishing cabin there anymore.

It’s a shame that those guys acted like that. As a conservative, I really hate that there’s people like that who are supposedly part of my political demographic. We aren’t all “white supremacists” or gun toting crazy people. Even I don’t feel comfortable around people like that. I totally agree with your “bubble” theory & how the media divides us. I think people should have the right to believe or support whatever they want without being hassled by strangers. Anyway, love your channel, love your stories, & love to hear ya tell them. God bless!

I remember you telling the first story, years ago. Around that time I had a side job delivering auto parts, and one of the first points in the training video was, ALWAYS back into parking spaces, whenever possible. (Their point was safety, though, a high percentage of vehicle damage accidents, they found, was when the drivers were backing out of parking spaces, safer to take the extra time to back into the space, and pull out.) It altered my driving habits to be sure. Now I always back in / pull out whenever possible.

25 trucks vs 1 woman! YIKES!!! You were very brave! I think I might have thrown in the towel and gone back to bricks and sticks! Good to hear these stories and what might potentially happen on the road. Thank you!

Have you ever noticed a difference in your health/energy levels when you go from place to place? do you feel better in drier areas or more humid?, rural vs. urban etc. you’ve hinted some things but i haven’t seen a video about this in particular. would definitely like to hear your thoughts on it. ❤

I like what you said “We are all somewhat brainwashed or influenced by what the media tells each of us and if we all got out and met each other…” you are right and the media is sensationalized for profit and it’s divisive. If we all assumed positive intent of each other the world would be a better place. What was that song “ Come on people now, smile on your brother Everybody get together. Try to love one another right now. I’m not a Pollyanna however it’s a good place to start. 😊 By the way the adverts are very unobtrusive and always for things that are potentially useful.

I live in a small farming community about 90 minutes north of Sacramento and we often say that we have much more in common with Kansas here than California!
Yes, pick-up trucks (many with gun racks) are extremely common around here in rural NorCal but most I know of leave others alone, so sorry about your experience.
The WalMart I'll bet you are referring to is the one on Florin Rd., and no, you definitely would NOT have been safe there!
Rancho Murieta is about 30-45 minutes or so east/southeast of Sacramento- There is also a Murrieta (different spelling) in SoCal just south of Riverside...

Thanks for sharing your adventures!
