As an elderly gay man, I wasn't particularly concerned about digital pregnancy testing. This was a brief reflection on the technological advances in microchips. When I think back to the moon landing in July 1969; or that my first use of a computer in 1970, when doing my post-graduate training in clinical psychology, was on a main-frame and I had to learn to program in Algol and Fortran on punched tape or punched cards; or that my first personal computer necessitated learning Basic programming; then I get some sense of how my father, born in 1911, felt about scientific and technological changes in his lifetime. My mind is blown. Thank you, guys. I wonder how you will feel in 50 years time.

i bought one of those because they looked cool, then I opened it with my friend and i found 3 strips. So we bought another one and found two in there. so hmmmm

But a pack with several paper strips, they are really cheap and work just as well.

Ok, so I already guessed that the digital ones still use the normal strip, and while I never did a pregnancy test for myself I did hundreds of them while working in a Lab, but we just did it without computer confirmation (If there was an unclear result we would do blood tests). I guess every lab works differently, but I think in most cases its just a safety measure in the ER before any kind of radiation.
