We just got confirmation that a new playable character may be added to Sonic X Shadow Generations! Let's talk about it!

Let's see... Shadow Generations takes place at the same time as Sonic Generations right? So no Rouge or Super Shadow. Black Doom's already confirmed so he can't be the 4th... so Omega or Maria, maybe Shade? Maybe a brand new character? I WOULD like to see both Classic AND Modern Metal Sonic in Sonic X Shadow Generations. Sonic will be a Rival Boss and Mephiles is most likely to be a Major Boss. So what do ya think, guys?

Another character that could fit could be Emerl (or Gemerl considering it was created with Emerl's data). If the story is going more in-depth to Shadow's past and character, Emerl would fit very well as his story was being about getting researched by Gerald Robotnik.

Maybe it could be E123 Omega since he doesn’t appear in Sonic Generations. So maybe it could be explained that he was on a mission with Shadow before the Time Eater came along and screwed up the timeline.

2:23 Actually, Metal HAS interacted with Shadow.

During the entirely of Sonic Heroes, Metal Sonic was disguised as Eggman, and during Team Dark’s Story, Shadow directly asks who he believes to be Eggman something related to his past.

Metal actually responds to this. I forget the exact details.

I bet it's Maria. We know she's in the game bc of the voice actor leak*, but Sega hasn't officially announced her yet. Idk how she would really be playable though? Maybe it's like Sonic & Elise in 06, or just her as a companion again in STH 2005.

If it is a playable character, I think Rouge makes the most sense. Since they said Frontiers was an inspiration for Shadow Generations, it wouldn't surprise me if they just grabbed Knuckles as a base and slapped Rouge over him and his moveset, just like SA2.

It could be Emerl. The reason I believe this is because his backstory is directly linked to Project Shadow. After all, Professor Gerald gave him a soul based off of Maria (much like Shadow), free will and an emotion based AI. Also in Shadow’s story of Sonic Battle, he formed a link with Emerl and when all of the 7 Chaos Emeralds were in him, Shadow activated Emerl’s free will by saying, Bring hope to humanity. It may not be a guarantee, but it is possible that Emerl might return.

1:44 I mean Rouge was playable in Sonic Dream Team just recently and that’s a pretty fully fleshed out 3D modern era Sonic game.

As of right now, I 100% think it's Omega. He was literally the only one of the whole Sonic crew that wasn't in Gens and he has huge relations with Shadow. Him taking on Mephiles back in 06, Omega accompanied him same with certain routes in Shadow 05. Silver just seems very random, not saying it's been without a doubt deconfirmed but imo if they were going to make Silver playable again they wouldn't just slap him onto Shadow's story.

I don't think it would be Rouge due to the fact she was part of Sonic's part frozen but we could possibly have Omega or Silver

I saw some people talking that it might be for Shadow's new transformation (I doubt it'll be Super Shadow).

It's Maria in a casket held up in suspended animation, while it is be piloted by a mech that has a Rail Gun attached to it. So she is just a Metal Gear-like character.

I think it's simply a powered up version of Shadow. We haven't actually seen the Doom powers yet properly outside of the quick scene where he gets the wings. I would guess that it's "Doom Shadow" and the description is about how he gets the Doom powers, I don't think they have revealed all of the Doom powers fully yet so that's why it's being kept secret for now until closer to release
