Tabless means that the surface area of which the power is transfered from battery to tool is much larger, meaning less heat and more joules per second. This means higher discharge rate and more power behind the tool.


Also, that must be a new hammer drill because the anti kick back in the r861152 is so sensitive, that little jerk you see in this video when the bit bites the would shut the current hammer drill down without question

Ridgid promises these batteries to be a major upgrade from their normal 18V batteries by utilizing 21700 cells and tabless connections within the battery. While this technology isn’t brand new, Ridgid is the latest brand to enter it into its lineup. We first saw it with the launch of Milwaukee’s Forge batteries, and more recently Ryobi’s HP Edge batteries in early 2024.

Unlike the conventional battery design, which uses one or two internal tabs for energy transfer, tabless cells maximize the pathways for internal energy transfer by limiting the amount of resistance. What follows is a power boost of up to 3X compared to standard Lithium-ion batteries, according to Ridgid. Plus, this design also helps the battery to run cooler for all-day performance.

How much better is this going to perform than a three amp hour octane battery but also has 21700 cells I know it's rated for one more amp hour but are you really going to notice a difference

You still haven't eplained the difference between "regular" 4ah and "MAX" 4ah other than a big price difference.... 4ah is 4ah - so what justifies the price jump?
