I don't know why no one is talking about Antony, He is always 3 Goals away from Hatrick, and He Has an equal number of ballon do'rs if you add Ballon dor's of Pele, Maradona, Henry, Xavi, Ibra, etc. Truly the definition of an underrated Legend.

Vini deserves the ballon d’or honestly. No hate towards Rodri because he had a Fantastic season and It's crazy how when he won the treble there was no talk of him even because they wanted to give it to messi

We love to talk about the lack of entertainment and quality in modern football and how too many wingers pass the ball backwards or sideways, but Vini is on another level. Even though he spent 1/3 of the season injured, he has done enough to win the Ballon Dor, he was one of the best players in the world and while he doesn’t have the best stats domestically, he produced a lot of memorable performances in big games and he was key to Real Madrid winning the Champions League with the way he was decisive in every knockout stage game getting a goal or an assist from the RD of 16 to the final and I get it he struggled at the Copa America and he’s yet to truly produce his best form in a Brazil shirt, his shortcomings at international level shouldn’t discredit his achievements. Rodri has a good if not better chance of winning the Ballon Dor than him and regardless of what people think of him and his lack of trophies in 2024 compared to 2023, it doesn’t change the fact that he was incredible consistent last season and yes he was arguably not even Manchester City’s best player, he was probably their most important player because without him they wouldn’t have won the premier league since most of the games they lost, he didn’t play, in contrast to when he played, they were barely losing games which is a testament to how influential he is as he went a full season undefeated in the premier league and excluding penalty shootouts, he didn’t lose in his last 74 games in regular time. Spain won the EUROs and he was player of the tournament and I can agree with people who think that he wasn’t their best player, he contributed to their success regardless and when it comes to the Ballon Dor whether people like it or not, in an international year, international competitions will hold significant weight and he has a good chance of winning it regardless of whether he deserves it. The Ballon Dor as of right now is between Vini and Rodri, I wouldn’t be surprised if neither of them win it as this is an award that’s based off of PR at the end of the day and how marketable a player is in terms of their brand and publicity.

Given the way he started last season, if the Ballon Dor was awarded in the middle of the season, Bellingham would win it and obviously at the age of 20, he had a great debut season at Real Madrid as he won the Champions League he was the best player in La Liga as he was playing as if he’s been at their football club for his entire life and assuming England won the EUROs, he would easily win this award, unfortunately he lost the final and had a decent tournament even though he had a couple of moments and on top of that, he was average after the turn of the year. Due to the amount of PR he has, that’ll play a role in his favor for the Ballon Dor as his first 3-4 months at Real Madrid where he was scoring goals week in week out is a main reason why he’s still in contention for this award even though he’s a great player. Mbappe is an excellent player and he had a great season from a statistical perspective in terms of the numbers he produced and by every metric, he should be the best player in the world and be a clear frontrunner for the Ballon Dor, but he has no chance of winning it this year and that’s because he wasn’t decisive enough in big moments for club and country as in the latter stages of the champions league in his final months at PSG, he was unable to deliver when it mattered most and he badly flopped for France at the EUROs even though they made the semifinals which was down to their defense as they barely scored any goals from open play during the tournament, BTW, his poor performances in his first couple of games for Real Madrid don’t count towards the voting period even though he ain’t winning it. Anyways, it just amazes me with how football has drastically fallen off and the Ballon Dor in 2024 is such a washed award.

Rodri wasn't even nominated in the 8-player list of best PL players, wasn't the best player from the euros (not even the best from Spain) but sure he's the best in the world

No one really deserves it but if you had to pick I would say Jude Bellingham, had a way better season than vini. Don't get why everyone is saying rodri.

i'm going to be real with everyone martinez should win it. here me out he got 43G/A scored crucial goals for Argentina at the copa america won the copa america the serie a the italian super cup the italian cup and was the top scorer in the serie a and the copa america. Whilst vini and bellingham were good vini ghosted for his national team and bellingham didnt win anything with england so martinez should win it

I feel as if Bellingham or Rodri will win it.

RODRI is the clear answer here
He missed 4 games for man city which all of them either draw/lost
Even when he missed a game for spain, spain also lost
He is pivotal for club & country

This is arguably the closest Ballon Dor race in a long time as there’s no clear frontrunner for who’s going to win the award this year as the likes of Vinicius Junior Jude Bellingham and Rodri had their moments of individual brilliance and they won significant trophies at different times for club and country which has made this race so open. I don’t blame people for saying that “football fell off” and it’s not just because Messi and Ronaldo aren’t at the top level anymore, the Ballon Dor is usually an award that’s won by the best individual player in the world throughout the season and how they led their team to success, in recent years, this award has become too centered around team achievements because we wait until the champions league international competitions (EUROs and Copa America) and then based off of that, we decide who should win the Ballon Dor based off of who was the most successful player on their team and how many team trophies they won for club and country.

This has been a trend that has been noticeable in recent years and a prime example of this is Dani Carvajal as many people are saying that he should win the Ballon Dor this year and I get it he had an excellent season, Real Madrid and Spain were very successful and he was a big reason for that as he performed well in big games and was consistent throughout the season, I’m not saying this because he’s a defender; but he wasn’t even one of the best players in the world last season, going into the major tournaments and the champions league final, no one was even talking about him. I don’t want to take anything away from his brilliance individually, as I’ve said many times, we saw this with Jorginho a couple of years ago where people were pushing an agenda for him to be in the conversation for the Ballon Dor just because he won the most significant trophies for club and country even though he wasn’t even the best player on his team and Carvajal is another example of a good player that was part of teams that had a lot of success it’s as simple as that.
