Bringing back the inflation to 2% it doesn't fix in any way the fact that for almost 2 years the inflation was much higher than that. Year-over-year inflation only tells you what happened with the prices in the last year, so if you wait long enough you just forget about the problem, but you don't fix what was done, which is misleading. This is a perfect example of lying with data.
