Gustavo Dudamel is a highly renowned Venezuelan conductor, considered one of the most talented conductors of his generation. He was born on January 26, 1981, in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, and studied music as part of the national program for youth conductor training, called "El Sistema."
In 1999, Dudamel was appointed as the conductor of the "Simón Bolívar" youth orchestra in Venezuela, which is part of the "El Sistema" program. He quickly became one of the most important conductors of the orchestra, and subsequently led other renowned orchestras from around the world, including the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, and many others.
