Project Manager Interview: How To Answer “Tell Me About Yourself”

When answering the question "Tell Me About Yourself" for a Project Manager interview, it can be tempting to slide into more project detail than necessary about the problem statement and deliverables. However when answering the question, a brief description of the project, followed by instead focusing more of your time on the role you played in defining scope, keeping to the schedule, tracking the budget and addressing risks/issues shows more value to the interviewer.

In this video, I share an example of how to answer this question thoughtfully and succinctly and I also share a framework you can use for how to guide your own answer to this question.

I am seeking assistance to prepare for interviews. Despite having over 20 years of experience as an engineer, I find myself getting nervous and not presenting myself as the seasoned professional I am when in front of an interviewer or panel. Since the pandemic, I have attended many job interviews where I have been told that I have great experience, but under pressure, I struggle to articulate my thoughts clearly.
