As usual when I need wisdom about God's word I turn to Pastor Guzik and I'm glad I did this morning because he made quite clear the doctrine of election. Many thanks.

16“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17“For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. 18“He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3: 16- 18

David clearly said that God did not prepare anyone for destruction….man prepares his own destruction. Good prepared hell for the devil and his angels. Man chose the path of damnation for himself and no one can lay it at Gods feet. This is what I heard. God chose Jacob regarding the covenant not Esau. Yet that didn’t mean he was not blessed or that he was rejected in the life after death.

You said some good things in terms of God having a plan but completely missed the point of this chapter. It is by faith, not pedigree or works. God elected Israel to be the vessel through which His plan would come. Please do a more careful study of this. This is not about God choosing individuals, but chose Israel. They objected Him including the Gentiles, but He said He will have mercy on who He wants. Please study more carefully

I’m sorry David, but this teaching is just awful. You get everything badly wrong. Paul is not teaching that God chooses some and not others. Paul is teaching God chooses everyone. You’ve badly, badly misinterpreted Romans 9.
