They can hit all the notes right. I can always tell though the difference between when a musician is in love with the music they are singing, or if they are in love with the sound of their own voice. Where the passion is, matters. It permeates and radiates through the performance. Music isn't just sound. It is energy and people are sensitive to the energy that is put out. I realize this might hurt the prides of some, but this is the reality of performance. I have run into this dynamic before. Strive for authenticity. People can feel that and they respond to it. Sing the music you fall in love with and show that love when you sing. Don't listen to your own voice when you sing. Listen to how your voice can add or compliment the art you are performing. Wrap your minds around the art this way and there will be no stopping you. The sound is gorgeous. Now just work on the energy and GO GO GO.
