The Place my Dream Came True

the weird thing about dreams is sometimes you don't realise when you've reached them

8 years ago after working in an office in london for years, stuck inside every day I decided to go and see what was out there. I ended up on the other side of the planet making a video for this incredible hotel with my best mate James. it was the start of a whole new journey.

I went back to that place. And realised something about that dream

just wanna say a massive thank you to all of you guys, so many of you have been part of this since my first videos and it really does feel like that this a journey we are all on - simply because you reply with such beautiful reflection on your own journeys and lives. The vid like the last one gets more attention but these longer, more drawn out stories really matter to me and they are based on really important parts of my life. So it means a lot to me when you understand them, and tell me about your own life experiences ❤

Every time I watch an Ali Gallop video I feel like I both just went to a therapist session and also got mentoring for my career. Such a great video man. Now I gotta go get better at story telling so I can try and catch up with you lol

I have never seen a creator who can combine immaculate videography with such profound wisdom so well. This is truly beautiful to witness. I love your creations, Ali, they're bound to be seen by the world.

You are, hands down... the best creator on YouTube. I don't think I have ever watched one of your videos where I haven't ended up shaking my head thinking... "How the F*** does he do this".

Ali, this was stunning and thank you for doing what you do.

Each of these is an absolute hit. I can't wrap my head around how good every video you make is. Seriously. This is what YouTube was meant for, this is why we all fell in love with this platform. Real, human stories. It just so happens that yours are masterfully crafted, too. I'm waiting for the next one already

it’s that fixation on escape. when you run away, soon enough all you wanna do is take a break, but you can’t run fast enough away from yourself. i was never happy when i was younger except when things were going well. all i wanted to do was to achieve my goals but nothing granted me that everlasting peace and happiness i had convinced myself i would get once i “did it”. i realized the times i was the happiest and most fulfilled were not when everything was going well but when i decided to accept everything as it is… to experience life completely in this moment for all the ups and downs; right and wrongs.
i resonate with this video a lot because i feel like there were times in my life i could have been so freaking happy but i ruined it for myself because i was fixating on “making it perfect”.

Hey man, just found your channel today and have watched all your videos. Sensational stuff, haven't been this engaged and inspired by content in a long time. This video reminds me of the Parable of the Mexican Fisherman:

A businessman on vacation in a small coastal village sees a fisherman returning from a morning’s catch. The businessman is surprised to see just a few fish in the boat and asks the fisherman why he didn’t stay out longer and catch more.

The fisherman replies, “This is enough to support my family for today.”

The businessman then asks, “What do you do with the rest of your time?”

The fisherman smiles and says, “I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take a nap with my wife, and stroll into the village each evening to have a drink with my friends.”

The businessman scoffs, “I have an MBA and can help you. If you fish longer, you’ll catch more fish, which you can sell to buy a bigger boat. With a bigger boat, you can catch even more fish and eventually buy a fleet. Soon, you’ll have a large enterprise and control distribution, opening your own processing plant. You could move to the city, expand globally, and eventually take your company public, becoming very wealthy.”

The fisherman asks, “How long would this take?”

The businessman replies, “Maybe 15-20 years.”

“And what would I do then?” the fisherman asks.

The businessman smiles, “That’s the best part! You could retire, move to a small coastal village, sleep late, fish a little, play with your children, take a nap with your wife, and stroll into the village to have a drink with your friends.”

You have a new subscriber, keep it up!

Every time I think I'm learning and growing at storytelling and filmmaking. Ali drops another video and I feel like a child filled with excitement and zero experience, all over again. Thanks for always inspiring.

Inspired everytime. I've always had a need to create, uploading on youtube at 10 really inconsistantly trying multiple types of channels, I get in my thoughts a lot about the right creative outlet to turn to a career, with so many passions I cant decide one thing and feel trapped doing so, often im unclear on the dream in words but I can feel it? Working in a post production house but feel just the same I want to be outside actually creating something of my own. I'm following my own creativity and passions surrendering to the creative flow learning more about myself through it in the little time I have free trusting it will lead to the uncovering the dream soon enough, this inspires me to do more! I'll try not grow back.

Since I found your channel I wanted to create a youtube channel for myself too not for money or anything but just to present and express myself and tell stories but I lack the skill of storytelling and just don't know "the right path"
But I just wish you the best !
I haven't seen the video yet and I know it's gonna be a good and retrospective one 😂

This video was so so good. I was absolutely sucked in and loved the message and the way you pieced it all together. It totally felt like I was right along side you rooting for you to find a way in. The end message hit so hard too. Absolutely loved it. Can I ask where you got your music from? You used it perfectly throughout the video, it really added so much to the story. Masterfully done my friend
