The bit of Rocket seeing Lyla and the rest of his old friends got me good…

I lost my mother at the age of 2 to a vehicle accident back in 1995. Fast-track to 2012… and I was then hit by a car, but I survived (in the process becoming “The Boy Who Lived” in my lineage), surprisingly remaining conscious and only suffering a broken leg.

That scene had me imagine if I had actually died that day. Would I have met my mother and been reunited with her after all that time? Or, what if it was like in Rocket’s case, where I was instead close to death? Would it instead have played out like this scene, but with her telling me it wasn’t the end?

Every time this scene plays, it causes all those thoughts to occur, and I can’t help but lose it.
