In this tutorial, you will learn how to draft the pattern for the DOUBLE CIRCLE SKIRT and learn how to sew the hem of any kind of circle skirt using a Horsehair Braid.

this is super helpful! I know that if you make 2 double circle skirts and gather them up to a waistband, it could create a really floaty skirt if you're using light fabrics and its very Marilyn Monroe since you can get all that volume and lift if the fabric is very flowy but not sheer (think of a lightweight silk with an organza lining for stability). I hope to use this tutorial for my gowns and sleeve flounces since I think it will make my designs look very fantasy and elegant.

I would absolutely love to make this skirt but my fabric isn’t wide enough for the length I want to cut it out as a full circle skirt. How would I calculate the waist radius if I wanted to make a double circle skirt with 4 x half circles? Or if I made it as a 1 and a half circle skirt with 3 x half circles if that’s a thing? (I’d love to still have side seams so I can add pockets)
If anybody can help with this that would be appreciated. 💕

Can I do the catch stitch only on the inner lining of the skirt because I'll be using two fabrics orgenza and cotton underneath orgenza, will it work or I'll have to stitch both fabrics together while stitch the horsehem?
