How to FIX Mi flash unlock tool not detecting Xiaomi phone and unlock!

You have decided to finally unlock your beloved Xiaomi Phone and you have entered the fastboot menu. You have downloaded the Mi Unlock tool but it does simply not connect.

Let me save all the frustration - check all the fixes and the ultimate solution to this issue!

To DISABLE Windows Driver Signature Enforcement open a command prompt and type
▶ bcdedit /set TESTSIGNING OFF

To ENABLE it start CMD and type
▶ bcdedit /set TESTSIGNING ON

Apply for Mi Unlock and download Mi Unlock Tool

This kinda helped, but instead of downloading an unofficial tool which could be a potential security risk, I noticed there was an unrecognized USB device in the Device Manager, so I went to Windows Update, and under Optional Updates, I installed one that was missing, look for something USB related. Then my device was recognized by the MI Unlock Tool. That was it, I didn't do anything else, now I just need to wait 7 days (and hopefully won't receive a phone call...).

Thank you. This worked. Mi unlock tool did not recognize my phone until i downloaded the mi tool and restarted pc! Thanks to you i was able to unlock the phone. (Xiaomi no longer sends verification sms, just use their app and it will unlock and wipe your phone)
