In Kagurabachi, a legendary swordsmith created Enchanted Blades with various powers, and the main weapon of our main character Chihiro is the sword known as Enten, but what is it capable of? Well first off this sword can materialize goldfish made of Spirit Energy for different effects, like his first technique Kuro. This technique spawns a dripping Black Fish around Chihiro and with it materialized, he can coat his sword in that same dripping dark energy to release a slash that easily slices through a person or even groups of people at different ranges. Chihiro can also scatter his Kuro fish into smaller ones that allow him to monitor an area since he can see and sense through them, but the size and amount of these fish corresponds to Chihiro’s slashing ability as with Kuro: Shred he can release tens of rapid slashes with less power than a normal Kuro. From here Chihiro can use his Nishiki technique, where a goldfish with 3 colors spawns and grants him INSANE speed and and power, while also creating a trail along his blade and body that can of course cut and injure those he passes through. Finally Enten hs a defensive ability called Aka, which summons a blood red goldfish in the air behind Chihiro that defends him from various attacks and even absorbs them allowing Chihiro to send the attack back with a swing of his blade, but next let’s talk about Cloud Gouger.

Honestly, Kagurabachi is the reason I started reading more mangas, and not just watching the animes.

Enten’s abilities are really interesting. There’s a lot going into them. While we were initially lead to believe that the abilities were simple; Kuro/Black is a flying slash, Nishiki/Calico is speed, and Aka/Red is a counter, we later explore deeper aspect of what these 3 abilities can do. The goldfish can be used as surveillance, scattering spirit energy into others/objects, cloaking oneself within that energy, I can’t wait to see the extent of creativity this power system holds.
